The last 24 hours have not been an easy one. Temperature badan Izz kejap ok, kejap x ok. Kejap sejuk, kejap panas balik. Smlm Deepavali, cuti, so x dpt la nk jumpe pediatrician. Pegi klinik biasa je. Dpt la Uphamol (in liquid form) and an antibiotic. Selain tu, masuk ubat kat bontot to reduce the fever. I told the doc Izz bukan jenis yg suka mkn ubat, dia kata bole mix dgn his food or milk. So I did exactly that for a few times.
Very early this morning at around 3am, Izz woke up for his milk. Badan dia dh ok, so lega kejap. Pkl 6am dia bgn again, badan rasa panas balik. Even lebih panas than the day before. I was already so worried. Terus decide ambik time off utk bwk Izz pegi pediatrician. Typically, we would go to Kwan but this time around mcm malas sbb the last few visit to Kwan (for Izz's rashes) wasn't so fruitful. I know sakit nye lain, but once kite dh mcm x yakin dgn that doc, mula la nk carik doc lain. Haha. Normal feeling kan.
Since dh decide nk jumpe another pediatrician, mana lagi kalau bukan kat KPJ Kajang. That's the nearest place dgn rumah. Kalau ada tmpt lain, mmg lama dh pegi tmpt lain tu. We continue pegi KPJ pun just because of the location. The services lately ni mmg agak shitty, especially when it comes to being warded.
Dlm pkl 8.45am, me, Izz and bibik kluar rumah utk ke KPJ. Awal2 dh ckp dgn bibik, suruh dia get ready utk bwk Izz gi hosp. By 9am smpi sana, register and tunggu the doc. 9.30am still doc x masuk lg. WTH. Saya dh panas. Tnye the nurses, diorg ckp doc ada tp tgh make round kat wards. Last2 pkl 10am br dpt jumpe doc. See what I said about the service being shitty. Kata private. Bayar mahal. Tunggu smpi 1 jam br dpt jumpe doc. Apa jadah. Izz smpi sempat tido then bgn semula, kitorg masih menuggu doc.
Luckily doc nye baik, so xde la marah sgt after that. Doc kata Izz has viral fever. Sbb tu lmbt sikit baik. Badan akan kejap panas, kejap sejuk for about 3 days before panas nya hilang. Demam nye pulak akan btul2 baik for about 7 days. Lama nye!!! No choice kena mkn ubat. When I told the doc what medicine was given by the other doc and how I gave it, doc terus ckp ubat2 nye OK but they can't be mixed with anything else. Not food, not milk. Kena bg direct. Ubat demam mmg x bleh buat mcm tu. Ubat selsema, ubat batuk bole. Pulak dh. Since he's the pediatrician and the other doc is just a GP, dengar la ckp this doc. Then sbb badan Izz agak panas lg, kena la masuk ubat kat bontot lg skali.
Before kluar dr bilik doc, dia ckp since ubat yg the other doc bg tu ada lg, just continue je mkn those. Except the Uphamol kena mkn every 4 hours. Antibiotic bole continue as usual. He didn't give any other medicine. My conclusion from this: the clinic I went to yesterday was dependable la. Ubat bagus sbb the pediatrician would've given the same thing. Except that advice nye lain sikit dr the pediatrician. But no argument there. Dia bukan pediatrician. Jd nye kat KPJ td saya byr utk consultation je.
Smpi je rumah terus bg Izz mkn ubat. Alhamdulillah not as challenging as before. Bg dia duduk on the high chair and letak mcm2 toys. Dlm buat muka pelik, ubat still telan gak. Distraction tu amat penting. Kalau xde toys, probably dia akan luah balik ubat kluar.
Oh yes... bila baby sakit, br la saya start nk google. I am absolutely clueless camne nk handle baby yg demam sbb Izz x pernah demam before. Saleh ckp jgn bg kipas direct kat Izz. Biar dia panas sikit, peluh kluar, kebah. Tp my mom ckp x bleh. Baby kalau demam, kena bg dia sejuk. Badan dh panas, xkan nk bg lg panas. Nnt lg la body temperature naik. Make sense. Bila google, mmg btul pun apa my mom ckp. Konsep kebah ni maybe applicable to adults je kot. Even for myself, skali je yg pernah guna konsep kebah tu masa demam. Other times mmg x bleh covered sgt. panas gile kot! So today, mmg kena keep Izz cool je.
Right now, I'm blogging sambil tunggu my Outlook emails load (connection kat rumah - kajang or putrajaya - sgt la slow). Izz lps mkn ubat td, bibik bg minum susu. Habis 4oz. Skarang tgh tido. Lama kot tido ni. Perut dh kenyang. Ubat pun dh mkn. Harap dia rehat. As for me, akan keje di rumah je, today and tomorrow. Kalau x jaga Izz sepenuh nya pun, plg tidak bole tlg bibik in case she need help with Izz, especially time bg mkn ubat. Harap Izz baik la cepat. x suka nya bila baby sakit. Saleh lak busy manjang dgn MICCOS. Next week saya plak start busy dgn closing. Timing mmg serba x kena.

PASAL CMNE NAK HANDLE BABY DEMAM AKU DULU BUAT STYLE MCM ADULT. BUNGKUS ANAK NAK BAGI PELUH. TP TERBALIK DGN BABY. KALAU DEMAM, MANDI PUN TAK PAKAI WATER HEATER BIA STOK SEJUK GIGIL2, SO PANAS KELUAR. VIRAL FEVER AMIK MASA NAK SETTLE. NIADEL BELUM PENAH KENA TUH. UBAT INSERT KAT BONTOT PUN X PENAH. NAUZUBULLAH. YE LA, TAK LEH CKP. IZZ CEPAT2 SEMBUH. AUNTY ALY RISAU KAT MAMA YG NAK CLOSING NEXT WEEK! BOLE GITU? :P
